Don't fill your mind with things you can't change

“That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:” II Peter 3:2

The things that you fill your mind with will affect what you do, how you act, and how you feel about life. When you fill your mind with all the things you want or all the things that you would like to see happen, sometimes all that you get in return is frustration.

Remember when you wanted to drive but you had just turned thirteen? Just wanting to be older didn't make it so. Do you feel like you are being passed up for a position that you deserve? Did the wrong person get elected?

These things can cause you to struggle with joy. Life can quickly become one disappointment after another. But God has a better plan. He says to fill your mind with His Words. The natural result of this activity is you will become a better, more attractive person. If you seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, the Lord promises to add all of the “things” to your life that are necessary to make your life all it can be.
