Is this the end of the world?

"And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." Acts 1:7

After Jesus had risen from the dead he spent some time with the disciples eating with them and teaching them things about the kingdom of God. He then took them to a mountain apart from the crowds and began giving them the His final instructions. They could tell the mood had changed and you can almost sense their excitement mounting as they anticipated what all of this meant to them. Their question, understandably, was, 'Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?"

This made me think of the situation we are going through right now. We are experiencing change on a level that we have never seen in our lifetime. It has caused many of us to glance heavenward as we begin to see the mechanics of the end times seem to start falling into place. It is that same feeling and anticipation that the disciples felt that day on the mount of Olives....and that is why the reply to their question from Christ, Himself, has so much meaning to us today.

He told them that the exact times and seasons was not theirs to worry about. He clearly had instructed them to watch for His return, yet if that is all they did then NO ONE ELSE would hear the message of salvation. James is clear in his epistle, that our faith in Christ is supposed to be communicated to those around us. Paul tells the Corinthian church in his second epistle to them, that we are to share the comfort of God with those around us.

I think it is time to stop worrying about implanting chips and man made viruses. We are not supposed to spend our time trying to figure out when the world is going to end. It's time for us to take the power of the Holy Spirit that has been given to us and be witnesses(even more than before) of the saving power of Jesus Christ.
